Nathalia players named joint winners of NCWL best-and-fairest

The two Nathalia players are the first winners of the medal since it was named the Chris Thomas Medal.

Thomas received the honour on the night for the work he's done for women's football and community sport.

Favaro also was awarded the goal-kicking award, after booting 31 goals for the season.

Echuca's Allan Gannon was named Volunteer of the Year, beating out Tatura's Nathan Laffy, Mooroopna’ Shantelle Bentley and Benalla's Stacey Emms and Fiona Powles.

Sarah Lange-Richards, who wasn't present at the awards night, won the Rising Star award.

Lange-Richards beat out her Tatura teammate Ruby Williams, Nathalia's Gracie Reid and Cody Power, Madi Dowell and Sarah Young from the Cats and Saints pair Emily Sims and Scarlett Lowe.

Grand final coach Damian Dalziel, from Echuca, was named Coach of the Year.

Carlton AFLW player Grace Egan was at the event as a guest speaker and participated in a Q and A with AFL Goulburn Murray's Trevor Mellington.
