A marathon tribunal hearing on Wednesday night resulted in Kyabram co-coach Brad Edwards being found not guilty on two counts of rough conduct following the May 8 contest at Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
But after the approximately four-and-a-half-hour hearing the independent tribunal recommended a separate investigation be opened into another Kyabram player pertaining to the same two charges of rough conduct in the round six reserves fixture.
The league board has already approved the opening of the new investigation, which will begin promptly.
The initial investigation had been granted an extension after being delayed, with the recent coronavirus restrictions hampering the process.
Investigations adhere to a 10-day timeline for completion unless an extension is granted.
