A dozen of the brightest teenage stars have the chance to strut their stuff in front of scouts and recruiters when the Bushrangers contest two games in the approaching school holiday period.
Murray will square off against Bendigo Pioneers at Echuca's Victoria Park on Sunday, June 27 as a curtain-raiser to the NAB League under-19 round 10 contest.
That encounter will be followed by a match against Gippsland Power on Friday, July 2.
A venue and starting time are yet to be confirmed.
The two-match series was conjured up by the AFL due to players from the under-17 program featuring heavily in the under-19s this season.
The 30-player squad, which will begin training on June 23, has a heavy taste of juniors from Goulburn Valley League outfits.
Mooroopna has the most representation of talented teenagers with Joss Church, Coby James and Toby Williams flying the flag.
Shepparton and Shepparton United have two products involved.
Ned Byrne and Boston Dowling represent the Bears, while Joeve Cooper and Oscar Ryan are United's double act.
Shepparton Swans youngster Manny Laulu is the sole talent from Princess Park, while Seymour's Angus Murray is the headline act coming from Kings Park.
Murray League clubs Nathalia and Rumbalara have each produced a squad member, with Gus Bramwell and Ben McGowan respectively.
Lastly, Picola District Football League powerhouse Strathmerton has blooded prospects Kevin Griffin and Josh Payne.
Murray Bushrangers coach Mark Brown said the club was delighted with its crop of talent, while he highlighted the difficulty of selecting the squad.
“With the pandemic effectively destroying last year’s football season, we’re extremely pleased to see the high level of talent throughout the under-16 age group in our regions,” Brown said.
“The depth of talent made selecting a final squad extremely difficult, and we acknowledge that many players missing selection this season will force their way into future squads.”
