Seven footballers have received penalties for indiscretions, but surprisingly, the first case stems from an incident which happened more than a decade ago.
Girgarre's Ben Gentle failed to appear at the KDL tribunal in April 2010 after he was reported for abusing an umpire.
In order to pull on the boots again, Gentle was required to face the tribunal for his outstanding report.
A fortnight ago on May 14, Gentle was found guilty and received a two-match suspension with a further four matches suspended until the end of 2022.
Sticking with the KDL and two more senior players have been sanctioned for separate incidents.
Tallygaroopna's Mitchell Bover was found guilty at the tribunal for abusive language towards an umpire in his side's round six match against Nagambie.
Bover was handed a two-match suspension.
Longwood senior footballer Mitchell Van De Duim was found guilty at the tribunal for engaging in rough conduct during his side's round six loss to Girgarre.
Van De Duim was given a two-match suspension.
Meanwhile, an underage footballer from Merrigum is set for a stint on the sidelines.
The Bulldogs player was found guilty of careless striking during the under-18 match against Longwood in round seven and handed a two-match suspension — plus a further four matches suspended until end of 2021.
And an underage footballer from Murchison-Toolamba accepted a one-week set penalty for abusive language towards another player.
In the GVL, as a result of the match review Benalla playing coach Jake Pallpratt has accepted a one-match set penalty for careless striking during his side's loss to Seymour in round seven.
Lastly, the result of a GVL investigation stemming from under-18 round four action has been handed down.
A Euroa youngster was found guilty at the tribunal for careless striking and given a four-match suspension following the game between the Magpies and Seymour.
