Of the 34 scoring shots managed between both outfits at Kyabram Recreation Reserve on Saturday, 22 could not find the space between the goal posts.
But the Bombers were able to secure the majority of possession and pepper their way to 8.14 (62) against Mansfield's 4.8 (32) by the time the final siren sounded.
Hayden Gemmill and Sam Langley snared two goals apiece for the home side, with Kayne Pettifer, Reid Crowe, Jarryd Pertzel and Zac Keogh adding the rest of the majors.
Axel Childs, Josh Dillon, Brad Whitford, Zac Norris and Riley Ironside were also among the better players for the Bombers in the win.
“It was another scrappy, pretty ordinary sort of game,” Kyabram co-coach Mick Mattingly said.
“We were good enough in the end to kick away, we felt like we had control for most of the game but we just couldn't finish off our work.
“That's something we'll really focus on.
“It was good to keep a side to a pretty low score again, too.
“We've got a younger side this year with a few Ky juniors stepping up.
“Sammy Langley is one who started in the twos and has stood up and really earned his spot, which is great to see.”
It was two straight kicks which separated the two sides at the first break - in Kyabram's favour - with the margin increasing to 16 points at the main change.
Neither outfit was able to gain ground in the penultimate stanza, before - much like in round six against Benalla - the Bombers put the foot down to notch six scoring shots to two in the final quarter and rubber-stamp a 30-point triumph.
Tas Clingan, Harry Mahoney, Tom Dunstan, Lachie Ritchie, Will Foster and Daniel Jones all battled hard for Mansfield across the clash.
Kyabram heads into the competition-wide bye in third spot, with the Eagles sitting seventh.
“We're looking forward to getting Kyle (Mueller) back after the bye,” Mattingly said.
“He'll help with our forward entries.
“Tom Sheldon will be back as well, he's missed two weeks with a groin issue.”
