The organisation's presentation evening was not only about the past season on the greens of the region though.
More GVBD stalwarts were inducted into the history books as part of the hall of fame — with a trio of those already bestowed with the prestigious honour elevated to legend status.
Shirley Sinclair, Greg Shilling and Ken Sutcliffe can now call themselves GVBD Hall of Fame members, while Jean Sprague, Roy Rowan and Wally Sinclair will forever be known as true legends of the region.
Edna Harling and Keith Warburton are the other two legends in the ranks of the association, while Clarice Power, Herb Prior, Mavis Meadowcroft, Dennis Smith, Bill Malins, Alan White, Joan Coldwell, Allan Matheson, Jean Roulston, Ian Russell and Father Ray Owens complete the 19-strong contingent in the hall of fame.
The newest batch of inductees garnered plenty of applause when announced on Monday night, with the list of achievements the trio has achieved in the region superbly impressive.
Sinclair began bowling at Shepparton in the early 1980s, securing plenty of success across 36 years on the rinks of the association.
But it is behind the scenes where she did arguably her most impactful work for her fellow bowlers.
In a number of roles at club and district level, Sinclair moved mountains to further bowls in this region.
The highlight could be circled in 2000, where after a call from Bowls Victoria president at the time Betty Collins, Sinclair organised 36 bowlers from across the world to journey to East Shepparton, Shepparton Golf and Shepparton bowls clubs to enjoy practice matches and country hospitality.
Sinclair's record of devotion to lawn bowls administration is hard to beat — so earning her a spot in the hall of fame.
Shilling's record on the green is also one rivals can only dream of.
With 10 division one premierships under his belt, the Kyabram stalwart is one of the most successful bowlers to have graced the local competition.
Shilling also has 12 men's singles and six men's pairs titles for Kyabram — with four Herb Prior medals as the club's best-and-fairest player as voted by those around him also in his bulging trophy cabinet.
But such is the nature of the "thorough gentleman" as emcee Brian Nisbet described him that you would not know of the long list of accolades from Shilling himself.
Sutcliffe has 28 club championships to his name at Euroa, notching 14 men's singles crowns and seven men's pairs gongs to go with seven mixed pairs titles.
Along with playing 580 games for the Magpies, Sutcliffe has served as president, tournament secretary and of course as greenskeeper — one of his greatest passions is tending to the turf at Euroa.
Of the newly-elevated legends, Sprague's continued success at the highest level in the region is a testament to her longevity.
Only as recently as last year did Sprague add her latest Champion of Champions women's singles crown — her seventh in the GVBD.
Other accolades along the journey for the Rushworth star also include state representation and more titles than you can drive a bowl at.
Rowan has played more than 1000 pennant matches across his career, with the all-round sporting star finding room for bowls among his various other pursuits.
Rowan's CV is well known across the region having started playing bowls in 1957 at Katandra and only fully hanging up the uniform in recent years following stints with Shepparton RSL, Shepparton Golf and Shepparton Park along the way.
Wally Sinclair began his career at Hill Top in the early ‘60s, winning four club championships before moving to Shepparton where he secured a further six club singles titles — finishing runner-up in eight other seasons.
Nisbet is not alone in rating him the best bowler he has seen in the Goulburn Valley — with former national player Chris Young rating Sinclair as the toughest opponent he faced in the region.
