Sunday's rollicking 88-point result over Benalla on the road is the latest in Echuca's smoke show of a season, remaining unbeaten after five rounds.
The win cements the Murray Bombers’ spot in first — a position they don't look like giving up any time soon.
Coach Damien Dalziel noted Echuca was prepped and ready for the test of Benalla and told his troops to leave everything out on the field.
“From the start it was full and intense, (Benalla) played Tatura last week, so I said to the girls during the week, their match fitness would be up there,” Dalziel said.
“But we set ourselves from the first bounce to really go home not leaving anything in the tank by the end of the day and it was a really consistent four quarters of football.
“There was a little bit of a breeze and we capitalised, but I said we can't just rely on that for two quarters.
“We kicked goals into the breeze. The players worked hard all day.”
Meanwhile at Tatura, Nathalia held the Bulldogs scoreless as it stormed to a 13.12 (90) to 0.0 (0) win.
Five goals up by the first change, the Purples looked set for triple figures — and probably were — if not for Tatura stopping the flow.
Conceding a lone goal in the last highlighted an improved defensive effort from the Bulldogs, who linger in third following the loss.
Abby Favaro was Nathalia's chief contributor with three majors, while Emily McClure was the pick of the bunch for the hosts.
Tatura now welcomes Echuca to the showgrounds for a Friday night thriller, while Mooroopna also plays under lights as the Purples come to town.
