Three netball rising stars, Tatura's Elsie Boyer, Shepparton United's Sophie Garner and Rochester's Teal Hocking, were recently selected in the Victorian 17-and-under squad that will prepare for the National Netball Championships in June.
The exciting trio, members of a 35-player squad, will train together over the coming weeks until the final squad that will challenge at the national tournament is announced on Monday, April 26.
The Goulburn Valley League youngsters have all enjoyed success in their short careers.
Garner was awarded MVP in United's 2019 17-and-under grand final triumph at the tender age of 15.
Meanwhile, Hocking claimed the 15-and-under best-and-fairest in 2019, while Boyer was named the competition's rising star.
In the 19-and-under state squad, Deniliquin has two bright stars pushing their case.
Deniliquin Rams duo Ella Harvey and Eloise Ritchie have been named in the 32-player squad.
Two of the region's most promising women's football talents have been busy representing Vic Country.
Shepparton's Aurora Smith and Benalla's Keeley Skepper ran out for Vic Country on Monday as the 2021 AFLW Under-19 Championships kicked off.
And it was a memorable start to the championships for the pair.
Vic Country booted the last three goals of the game to storm over South Australia 5.6 (36) to 3.3 (21).
Smith starred on the wing, with her skills in traffic playing a large role in helping Country get over the line.
The Shepparton United product was named her side's second best contributor in the victory.
Smith and Skepper will return to action at the national championships on Sunday when Country takes on Queensland.
Skepper and fellow Benalla export and Shepparton Swan Madison Gray donned the Vic Country guernsey on Good Friday in the under-17 NAB AFLW underage challenge match against Vic Metro.
It was not the result the Benalla products were after, with Country going down by 35 points.
And many were impressed with the performance of Skepper.
The inside midfielder tallied 18 disposals, six tackles and dominated around the contest with seven clearances.
But the promising 17-year-old also showed off her wide range of talents.
With her side down on the scoreboard, Skepper was thrust to full-back in the last term and competed strongly in one-on-one contests and used her trademark left boot for kick-outs.
