Backs against the wall, Mueller crunched an unbeaten half-century as his side pulled off a stirring qualifying final win over the Haisman Shield favourite.
With the match abandoned on Saturday due to wet weather, the two sides clashed heads in a replay at Nagambie Recreation Reserve.
Mimicking a swing at a playground, momentum swung furiously back-and-forth in favour of both outfits throughout the contest.
Chasing Nagambie's miserly total of 111, Kyabram made a meal of its run chase early on.
Clinical bowling from Lakers skipper Mark Nolan left the Redbacks 2-5 and with star batsman Paul Newman back in the shed for a duck.
The home side was flying and the pressure cooker was firmly at breaking point for the visitors.
But in stepped Mueller.
The Redbacks captain partnered up with opener Billy McLay (41 runs) and the pair produced a remarkable 76-run partnership.
Mueller remained 50 not out as he and Angus McKenzie (five not out) were at the crease as Kyabram reached 4-112 in the 40th over.
The result has Kyabram tackling Waaia this weekend, while Nagambie will square off against Mooroopna.
THE GAME
Kyabram 4-112 (Kyle Mueller 50 not out, Billy McLay 41, Mark Nolan 2-13) d Nagambie 111 (Mark Nolan 28, Brayden Biggs 23, Connor Hawes 3-6, Jackson McLay 2-11)
STAR PLAYER
Kyle Mueller (Kyabram): You could flip a coin between Mueller and Billy McLay for the star player choice. But Mueller edges out his teammate for a gutsy unbeaten half-century after coming in to bat with his side 2-5.
