Coming from third position after the home and away season, Stanhope knocked off minor premier Avenel in the decider at East Shepparton.
The 112 to 76 result was set up by the 19-shot win of Barry Williams’ rink and the 11-shot success of Kenneth Hoppner.
The other winning rink, which featured family members Hayden, Brian and Geoff Crilly and Brian Stokes, took home an eight-shot victory.
Avenel's Brett McDonald finished two shots ahead of Peter Myers to stop the clean sweep.
Stanhope's treasurer Greg Fitzpatrick said the team was quietly confident heading in despite going in as the underdog.
“Unfortunately, due to the weather they only played a few ends against them before it was washed out (earlier in the season), so they didn't play a full game against them,” Fitzpatrick said.
“They were a bit of an unknown, but they were a little surprised that they won, but also happy they won.”
Despite the conditions, Fitzpatrick said it didn't bother the club's representatives when they knew victory was close.
“They said the green played reasonably well,” he said.
“Conditions were trying and there was drizzling rain.
“Once they had victory in sight they were happy to continue on.”
