Despite Golf having a handy lead at the break, the change of weather also changed Seymour's fortunes.
With scores level and only one end to play, Golf skipper Jim Tweddle knocked a Seymour bowl out with his final bowl to reverse the qualifying final result in a one-shot thriller.
Showcasing how close the match was, was the fact the biggest rink win was six shots (Tweddle's rink) as the clubs won two rinks each.
Golf's Jan Doherty said Seymour wasn't the only challenge on the day in the 87 to 86 win.
“The conditions were horrendous,” Doherty said.
“The wind was a big factor.
“When it started raining, the green became really heavy and it suited Seymour better.
“Gradually our lead was filtered away, but it came down to the last end and Jimmy Tweddle was the hero of the day.”
Doherty said the club was hoping the team would be promoted to division two and for its division five side, which also won, to move into division four.
