The organisations were elated to announce an agreement spanning the 2021 and 2022 seasons, with AFLGM commercial and operations manager Zara O’Keeffe voicing her approval.
“To have Shepparton Toyota jump on board with us during what has been a difficult time for businesses is phenomenal,” O'Keeffe said.
“Shepparton Toyota were so excited to have the AFLGM brand back with Toyota, who are nationally aligned with the AFL.
“The team at Shepparton Toyota have been amazing to deal with and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with them.”
Last year Shepparton Toyota gained the naming rights for the Shepparton Toyota District Junior Football League, and is furthering its allegiance to local football and netball with its latest commitment to AFLGM.
“Being a locally-owned family business, we are always looking for ways we can contribute back to the community that supports us,” Shepparton Toyota dealer principal Vaughan Bradshaw said.
“Sport is central to any great community, it provides people with a sense of belonging and the many benefits of participation are well researched.
“Naturally it made sense for us to partner with AFL Goulburn Murray to assist them to do what they do well.”
Three co-branded vehicles — two RAV4s and a Hilux, were handed over to AFLGM at the Shepparton Toyota dealership on March 5 as a sign of the dealership’s engagement with the footballing body.
“We encourage everyone in the Goulburn Murray region to support Shepparton Toyota when they are looking for a vehicle because they are putting money straight back into the region to support grassroots football and netball,” O'Keeffe said.
