Premiership winning stars Chris Marshall and David Gregory have been reappointed as the senior coaches for Jerilderie for the 2021 Picola District Football League season.
What was looking like a promising year for the Jerilderie Football Club in 2020 ended for the seniors after one practice match in March.
The season saw the return of many locals, primarily based in Melbourne, and this core group is keen to play again in 2021 if there are no COVID-19 restrictions. They want to help move the Demons up the ladder.
Marshall said he was ‘‘champing at the bit’’ to get going after personally missing two seasons of footy due to injury and COVID-19.
‘‘Watching our thirds win the flag (in 2020) was great, but really cemented my love of playing and coaching and how much I miss footy,’’ Marshall said.
‘‘Helping the young guys like Ben Neessen, Glen Di Lullo and Rory Knight — who was awarded best-on-ground in the thirds premiership — develop into senior players is a great challenge and one I look forward to.’’
