Playing coach Brad Lowe top-scored for Mooroopna in the seven-wicket win with 70 off 65 deliveries, 40 of which were scored in boundaries.
The club's director of cricket Robbie Newman said Jac Smith-Williams, who scored 41, shouldn't be forgotten either when it comes to praising players.
“Jac Smith-Williams hasn't done anything wrong this season,” he said.
“He hasn't got the big score, but he must be averaging 40.”
For those wondering, Smith-Williams is averaging 38.5 in the Haisman Shield and 40.8 overall once you add in his Twenty20 statistics.
Newman said the weekend's result was the first complete performance the second-placed team had put together for the season, despite some late innings hitting from Bayden Bailey, who scored 61 off 73 balls.
Mooroopna's bowlers all chipped win, with William Dundon the only multiple wicket-taker.
Despite the easy win, Mooroopna fell to 2-25 early in the chase before Smith-Williams and Lowe killed the contest with a 103-run stand.
THE GAME

STAR PLAYER
Brad Lowe (Mooroopna): After losing two early wickets, Mooroopna needed a steadying influence at the crease and that is exactly what playing coach Brad Lowe provided. He hit 70 at just more than a run-a-ball to see his side home inside 25 overs in a seven-wicket, bonus-point win.
