More than 100 tennis fans attended the club to catch a glimpse of the Australian Open trophies, that are awarded to the men's and women's winners.
As part of a Tennis Australia regional tour, fans got within touching distance of the world-famous Norman Brooks Challenge Cup (men's) and Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup (women's).
The regional tour road trip spent two hours in Shepparton, before heading to Myrtleford, Bright and Wodonga on Tuesday.
Shepparton Lawn Tennis Club president Malcolm Thiel said the club was over the moon to be involved in the tour.
“It's not every day that you get the Australian Open trophies visit your club,” Thiel said.
“When the opportunity arose last week we jumped at the chance. It's the first time I've ever seen them up close.
“Opportunities like that don't come around much. We had about 100 club members and locals enjoy a great two hours with the trophies.”
Along with the coveted Grand Slam trophies, a stalwart of Australian tennis was also in attendance.
Two-time Davis Cup winner and former Australian tennis star John Fitzgerald is the trophies ambassador during the regional tour.
Fitzgerald spoke to the crowd before sticking around to greet and meet the fans.
And the day was not without a few tennis racquets in action.
Tennis coach Luke Dixon hosted a free clinic for the budding junior stars.
“It was great for the kids to meet John and the trophies in person. They all aspire to one day hold the cups,” Thiel said.
“Coach Luke Dixon also had a tennis clinic with lots of excited kids all eager to learn. It was a really nice atmosphere and great day for everyone.”
