Senior was voted into the role at the annual general meeting last week, replacing Denis Brooks, who stepped down after four years as president.
Senior, who spent five years as Katandra president, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role.
“It's a really exciting time to take on the role,” Senior said.
“I've been on the league board for the past couple of years now, next year will be my fifth year and I'm looking forward to it.”
Along with the change of presidents, the league also ratified the inclusion of former associate clubs Katandra and Tungamah for the 2021 season.
The two clubs were accepted in principle to rejoin the league in September, after they joined Murray Football League in 2018.
The return of Katandra and Tungamah expands the league to a 15-team competition.
“It's exciting to have both of those clubs come back, it's great for the league,” Senior said.
“Hopefully we can get some stability now and push forward towards next year.”
Senior said he had ambitions to help strengthen each member club by further developing the junior ranks.
“Junior football and netball really is a passion of mine and the league,” he said.
“We want to create an environment for our juniors that allows them to join under-11s football and netball and remain aligned with that club right through the grades until their careers finish.
“Then you can have the entire family play at the one club. The stronger a country club is, the stronger a community will be.
“I'm a big believer of that.”
