The Suns announced last week they would remain in the Victorian National Premier League competition for the 2021 season.
It will take the Suns’ involvement in the NPL to a sixth consecutive year.
“It's great to stay in the NPL competitions, it gives our local kids the chance to play in an elite setting,” Marshall said.
“We want to give our players a platform to further their careers.
“And with the way the borders look at the moment, we will be relying on local kids, so it gives a lot more young players the chance to push their case in senior football.
“Hopefully we can get a few more Alou Kuols through the system.”
The welcomed announcement came as the Suns revealed they would begin holding open training sessions next month.
The Suns will host three open invitation sessions on November 10, 12 and 17 for boys and girls aged from under-12 to under-17.
“We have open training sessions next month for any juniors interested, it will be under-12s right through to under-17s,” Marshall said.
“We welcome any aspiring boys or girls to come and try out.”
Meanwhile, the Suns also revealed a new off-field signing.
VEO.
The robotic coaching aid uses artificial intelligence and 180-degree recording with 4K lenses to deliver elite team and individual analysis.
Marshall said the club was thrilled to bring the revolutionary equipment to its players and staff.
“VEO is something that we wanted to bring in for the 2020 season, but obviously COVID-19 hit and we didn't go ahead with it,” he said.
“It's exciting for the club to have this state-of-the-art equipment and it's going to add another string to the bow for our coaching staff.
“We can't wait to use it in action and give our players elite feedback.”
