Earlier this month, the ace rider claimed his maiden Speedway Grand Prix at the final weekend of the championship season.
Normally contested over 12 rounds across Europe, the 2020 championship was trimmed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was staged over one month to ensure a champion was crowned.
The round seven win in Poland meant the 24-year-old finished 10th overall in his debut campaign.
Fricke, who is the current Australian speedway champion, dominated from start to finish and only came under real pressure at the final corner of the race.
Fricke said he realised a childhood dream when he smoked his competitors to take out the first grand prix of his motorcycle speedway career.
“It’s unbelievable, it will take a while for it to sink in,” Fricke said.
“I have been to Torun before and watched GPs. To win a GP has been a childhood dream for almost as long as I can remember, since I started racing.
“To actually be here and get a grand prix win is great. I have had a tough start to this year, so to have a win is unbelievable.”
The former under-21 world champion also represented Australia in the Speedway of Nations event in Poland last weekend.
Fricke teamed up with former world champion Jason Doyle and recently crowned under-21 world champion Jaimon Lidsey in the green and gold colours.
Unfortunately, the trio was unable to replicate its third-place finish in last year's event and settled for fifth — six points behind the winner Russia.
Wet weather hampered the entire Speedway of Nations event, with Friday cancelled without a single heat raced and Saturday consisted of 14 heats before officials declared Russia the winner.
Fricke scored the highest points for Team Australia — thanks to a heat win — and walked away from the event with 12 points.
“It’s always a great honour to put on the Team Australia suit,” Fricke said post-race.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t get the result we wanted after the meeting was cut short due to bad weather. But thank you to everyone who helped make the SON possible.”
