At last week’s reconvened annual general meeting, Peter Learmonth took the reins from Mark Schumman as president of the club.
Learmonth was a member of Kyabram’s 1996 premiership side under coach Peter White.
The Bombers have been canvassing for a president since an aborted AGM late in December.
Schumann said it had been a frustrating and trying experience finding his successor and he was excited Peter had put his hand up to do the job.
‘‘Peter has a passion for the club and he’ll get plenty of support,” he said.
“There is a lot of experience on the board and that will be a big help for Peter, who I’m sure will do a great job.”
Schumann will remain on the 15-strong board, one of the strongest numerically in modern times at the club.
New board members elected at the meeting were former all-conquering senior coach and champion player Paul Newman and Kyabram businessman Andrew Porch, who takes on the treasurer’s role from club stalwart and life member Judy Nelson.
Another former player, Morrison Medallist Benny Gugliotti, is also a new board member and takes on one of the vice-presidency roles, along with Russell Morgan.
Brenton Sheppard, Sarah Kent and Ange Pulsoni are other new faces on the board, while former board member Peter Vick has returned.
Long-serving secretary Penny Newman was re-elected.
