Deniliquin 1.1, 4.6, 6.8, 10.10 (70)
A supreme showing from Tungamah with its season on the line has paved the way for the side to secure a home elimination final in the Murray Football League.
The Bears needed only a win against Deniliquin on Saturday to taste finals action for the first time since crossing over from the Picola District Football League two campaigns ago, but produced an annihilation to put the result to bed extremely early in the contest.
Tungamah booted eight goals in each of the first, second and final terms - as well as nine in the third - to complete a 144-point drubbing of the Rams at Jubilee Park.
"It was nice to have that pressure off pretty early on," Tungamah co-coach David Putamorsi said.
"It's really exciting for the club, especially coming from the Picola league across to the Murray league, it's a great achievement to be playing finals.
"The top two sides (Nathalia and Echuca United) are probably the benchmark, but after that anyone can beat anyone, so I think we can win a couple of games."
The Bears will remain at home next week in a knockout clash against Tongala, with the luck of the draw falling their way.
"It's good, but it's lucky," Putamorsi said.
"The smaller ground will suit us I think."
Nick Lawless (seven goals), Terence Jones, Bodhi Butts and Kade Rowe dominated for Tungamah on Saturday and with almost a full list to choose from there will be plenty of selection headaches on Thursday night.
"We didn't cop any injuries and there were a couple of boys playing reserves who had been in the seniors for a while," Putamorsi said.
"It will make selection hard, but you'd rather have it that way than trying to find numbers.
"Playing finals was a goal (fellow co-coach) Bodhi and I set at the start of the year and we've achieved that - now we want to win a final."
Ricky Gittens, Jake McManus and Todd Gallagher stood out for the Rams, who lost their final 10 games of the season to finish 11th.
