A Mooroopna teenager has been charged over two alleged aggravated burglaries on Shepparton homes where vehicles were stolen.
Police allege the boy broke into a house in Batman Ave in Shepparton on December 2 and stole a Jeep ute, which was later found in bushland off Jordan’s Bend.
About $5000 in property was also allegedly stolen from the house, including about $1200 in cash, handbags and Apple AirPods, police said.
The boy has also been charged over the alleged theft of a Mazda 3 car from the driveway of a home in Orchard Circuit on December 13 after the keys were taken from inside the house, police said.
Cigarettes were also allegedly taken from the house.
The cigarettes and car keys to the Mazda 3 were seized by police during the search of a Mooroopna house.
Police arrested the 17-year-old boy after executing a search warrant on the house on Tuesday, December 17.
He has been charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of theft of a vehicle, four counts of theft, handling stolen goods and being a learner driver who was not accompanied by a supervising driver.
He has been bailed to appear in a Children’s Court next year.
