Police said a red Kia SUV and another vehicle were involved in another crash at the roundabout in Tom Collins Dve, near Aquamoves, in Shepparton shortly before 5pm.
Police said a vehicle was doing a turn at the roundabout to drive back in the same direction it came from after exiting the car park, when it was allegedly struck from behind by the Kia.
According to police, the impact was enough that the side curtain airbags in the vehicle that was hit went off.
Police allege the Kia left the scene of the crash without stopping, before being involved in another crash only minutes later.
Police allege the Kia SUV collided with two vehicles on the north-bound side of Wyndham St that were stationary at a red light at the Wilmot Rd intersection about 5pm.
According to police, the Kia tried to go between the two vehicles, which were stopped in either lane.
The impact with the vehicle in the left lane pushed that vehicle forward into one in front of it, and in turn, that one was shunted into another vehicle in front of it.
Traffic in Wyndham St was thrown into chaos as both lanes were closed between Wilmot Rd and Meaklim St, and traffic was diverted down nearby streets for about an hour.
A 43-year-old woman from the Melbourne suburb of South Yarra, who was driving the Kia, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance for assessment after the second crash.
None of the people in any of the other cars in the Wyndham St crash were injured, while the driver of the other vehicle in the Tom Collins Dve crash was assessed at the scene by ambulance officers.
Police allege the registration of the Kia was suspended, and the driver also had a suspended licence.
Police said charges would be laid against the Kia driver, but had not been yet as the driver was taken to hospital.
Anyone who witnessed either crash or has any dash-cam footage is asked to contact Constable Christian Cardinali at Shepparton police on 5820 5777, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au
