Police are investigating after three stolen vehicles were seen being driven in the Shepparton area on Sunday, January 12.
Police said a BMW SUV was stolen from Wyndham St while its owner was having lunch.
Police said the car was spotted and tracked by police air wing later in the day.
While it was being tracked, it was also seen driving near another vehicle — a Mitsubishi SUV — which also flagged as being stolen, police said.
The BMW was eventually stopped by police on Murchison-Violet Town Rd in Miepoll late Sunday afternoon, with two people in the vehicle.
A 33-year-old Tatura man and a 35-year-old Shepparton man have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and were bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
The Mitsubishi SUV was found dumped late on Sunday afternoon in Vickers St, Kialla.
Police said a Holden Commodore ute was also stolen on Sunday afternoon from Fryers St in Shepparton.
Police were called after the vehicle was seen being driven erratically in Shepparton Sunday afternoon.
A police investigation is still ongoing to ascertain if the stolen vehicles were linked, police said.
Anyone with information or CCTV or video footage of any of the vehicles should contact First Constable Thomas Christie at Shepparton Police Station on 5820 5777 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppersvic.com.au
