On Monday, July 22, Tatura police responded to complaints from the public about motorists exceeding the speed limit on Ferguson Rd.
Four people were caught speeding and fined.
A Toolamba woman, 62, in a Mazda sedan was caught doing 114km/h in a 100km/h zone.
A Tatura man, 22, in a Holden ute was clocked at 114km/h in a 100km/h zone.
A Tatura man, 34, in a Toyota HiLux was caught driving at 117km/h in a 100km/h zone.
A man, 25, in a Ford Ranger was caught travelling at 122km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Separately, on Tuesday, July 23, Tatura police caught a Kialla man, 28, driving at 118km/h in a 100km/h zone on Toolamba Rd at Mooroopna.
Sergeant Darryl Phillips said all the drivers were issued the same fine of $395 for exceeding the speed limit and each lost three demerit points.
Sgt Phillips said he hoped motorists would drive safely on the roads.
“Given the current road toll, I would hope everyone would do the right thing to keep our community safe on our roads,” he said.
