A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the arm at an Elizabeth St address in Mooroopna on Sunday, January 2.
Shepparton Detective Sergeant Thelma Bull said police responded to the incident about 4pm.
The man was taken to hospital, but his injuries were not serious.
The investigation is ongoing.
Shepparton police said they received a number of calls to 000 in relation to the incident, and urged anyone with information or footage to contact Detective Senior Constable Mark Grey at Shepparton Police Station.
The stabbing was one of two alleged family violence incidents reported to police on Sunday.
Det Sgt Bull said police attended a Shepparton home on Sunday evening after a woman in her 30s was allegedly assaulted.
A 29-year-old male was taken into custody and interviewed in relation to the incident, Det Sgt Bull said.
He is expected to be charged with assault and criminal damage.
