A man caught speeding at 148km/h “wasn’t paying attention”, a court has heard.
Courtney North, 40, of Kialla, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to speeding by 45km/h or more.
Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Anna Hanlon said North was driving at 148km/h in a 100km/h zone on Euroa-Shepparton Rd at Euroa on July 18.
North told police he “wasn’t paying attention”.
Representing himself in court, North said it cost him about $1200 to get his car out after it was impounded for 30 days.
North was fined $200 and suspended from driving for 12 months starting on Monday, December 2.
