The region has had a horror Melbourne Cup weekend on the roads, with three people dying in three separate crashes in three days.
In the most recent one, a 20-year-old Cobram man died after a crash between his car and a truck on the Goulburn Valley Hwy at Koonoomoo just after 6pm on Tuesday, November 5.
Police allege the car, which was travelling north between Greens Lane and Tocumwal, crossed in to the south-bound lane into the path of the oncoming prime mover.
Police said the driver of the truck was uninjured and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Earlier in the day, a 23-year-old Shepparton woman died in a single-vehicle crash on the Euroa-Shepparton Rd.
They follow the death of an 18-year-old woman after her car crashed into a tree on Longwood-Pranjip Rd at Pranjip, west of Euroa, on Saturday, November 2.
