Footage has now been released of a car allegedly involved in the armed robbery, as well as photofits of the people allegedly involved, and details of another vehicle police believe the occupant of which may have witnessed the incident.
Police said two people were driving a silver Holden Rodeo on the Goulburn Valley Hwy between Wanganui and Barmah-Shepparton Rds at about 9.10pm on June 22.
Investigators believe a white SUV, thought to be a Kia Sportage, pulled in front of the Holden and forced it to pull over.
Police allege a man and a woman got out of the SUV, approached the Holden, and the woman screamed at one of the occupants and demanded money.
Investigators believe the man used a hammer to damage the Holden before demanding one of the Holden occupants’ phone, which she refused to hand over.
The man took the keys to the Holden, and left with the woman in the white SUV, police said.
No-one was physically injured during the incident.
The man has been described as in his early 20s with dark hair, and the woman has been described as in her early 20s with shoulder-length blonde/brown hair, police said.
Police are trying to identify the driver of a blue ute towing a trailer, who they believe may have seen the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Shepparton police on 5820 5777 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
