Goch lost control of a car, wedging it between two trees while reversing down a driveway on Sobraon St in Shepparton on to Fair St at a fast rate on April 21, 2024.
He swerved back towards a house, narrowly missing it, and mounted the kerb while reversing.
Goch recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.258, while his licence conditions stipulated it must be zero.
The car he was driving also wasn’t fitted with an alcohol interlock, despite it being a condition of his licence, and his licence was suspended at the time.
When Goch last faced court earlier in March, he said although the car he was caught driving had no alcohol interlock device, the car he owned was fitted with one.
Representing himself in court on March 14, Goch said the reason he’d had alcohol was because he was stressed and his mother had passed away.
Magistrate Simon Zebrowski sentenced Goch to an 18-month community corrections order, which included 50 hours of unpaid community work.
Under the order, Goch must undergo alcohol treatment and take part in offender behaviour programs, with up to 40 hours of these programs able to count as his community work.
Magistrate Simon Zebrowski disqualified Goch from driving for four years when he last faced court earlier in March.
Mr Zebrowski told Goch he was “in danger of going to jail” and the community corrections order was his “last chance”.
“You’ve got a very bad driving record,” he said.
“You’re getting to the stage where if you don’t change, you’re going to jail.
“You want to keep offending, but you don’t want the consequences.
“Stop drink-driving.”
