Jack Rollins, 23, of Arcadia, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to trafficking methamphetamines, trafficking GHB, trafficking cannabis, possessing LSD, possessing methamphetamines, possessing a schedule eight poison and possessing a schedule four poison.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm while a prohibited person, dealing with property suspected to be a proceeds of crime and two counts of intentionally damaging property.
Police found Rollins with a small water bottle with 1,4-butanediol in it at the intersection of Monash St and Balaclava Rd in Shepparton at about 12.05am on January 24, 2024.
He told police the liquid in the bottle was cordial.
Police also found six LSD tablets, four alprazolam tablets, three Seroquel tablets, $40 cash and green vegetable matter in Rollins’ right shoe after arresting him at a Shepparton house on March 12, 2024.
Rollins didn’t have a prescription for the alprazolam or Seroquel.
Police had also found drug paraphernalia at his Arcadia house after searching there on a warrant earlier that day.
The court heard Rollins told police he “was trying to sell to everyone”, but the drugs were more for his “own habits”.
While searching a Shepparton house on February 14, 2024, police found messages of drug trafficking and three pictures of Rollins holding a sawn-off .22 imitation gun on his phone.
The court heard he told police he “thought it was a real gun at first”, before he tried to sell it and found out it was a BB gun.
Rollins made full admissions to police about all the offending.
Rollins’ defence solicitor said her client had drug-related mental health issues, including anxiety and depression.
Magistrate Olivia Trumble sentenced Rollins to a 12-month community corrections order.
As part of the order, Rollins must undergo drug treatment, complete offending behaviour programs and do a mental health plan.
Ms Trumble told Rollins he had been looking at prison time until the possessing a firearm charge he was previously facing changed to possessing an imitation firearm.
