Jack Chambers, 33, from the Sydney suburb of Meadowbank, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, five counts of reckless conduct endangering death, and stalking, at his arraignment in Melbourne Supreme Court on July 26.
His matter was to have been heard in December, but the date has been pushed back to next year.
It is the second time the plea hearing date has been changed, after it was originally slated for September.
Chambers appeared briefly in Melbourne Supreme Court on Tuesday, November 26, in a mention hearing.
The court heard the newest date change was needed as his defence counsel was waiting on a psychological assessment report.
There was also an issue with the December availability of a Supreme Court Justice, who has been involved with the matter.
The plea hearing will now take place in Shepparton Supreme Court in February next year.
The attempted murder charge stems from an incident where Chambers rammed a woman’s car at Murchison on January 12, 2023.
Four of the reckless conduct endangering death charges come from the same day, with the charges relating to Chambers deliberately driving his vehicle into a Kia that had stopped to help the woman.
Inside the vehicle were three passers-by and the woman, who had already had her vehicle rammed off the road.
A further reckless conduct endangering death charge comes from November 9, 2022, when Chambers tried to strangle the same woman in Seymour.
The stalking charge is also against the same victim, and happened between January 7 and January 12, 2023.
