The new season of Farmer Wants A Wife saw a new crop of single farmers walk into the barn to meet their potential wives.

For the uninitiated, the four farmers each selected eight women from the thousands of applicants to come on the show and, in the first two episodes, the farmers choose five to come to their farm and five to go home.
Of those five lucky women, one will get 24 hours alone with their farmer, on their quiet, calm, isolated farm. Surrounded by microphones, production crew and, of course, many cameras getting every angle of the whole thing.
Episode one focused on Farmer Thomas and Farmer Corey having to send away three women each at the end of the night, however, it was Farmer Jarrad and Farmer Tom who stole the spotlight.
Farmer Tom got down to the really important topics with his date, Georgie — her dog Trevor.
And she didn’t back down, saying that her dog is obsessed with sheep, a good start for Farmer Tom.
Speaking of Farmer Tom, he had a second, much worse date this week, with a lady who seemed more interested in brawn than barn, asking him if he had a six-pack, if he would pick her up, and then they did squats together while holding hands.
Not such a strong start.
Farmer Jarrad had the classic small-town experience of almost courting his cousin. Brianna is from Coffs Harbour and he’s got family there with the same last name.
He tried one more time, asking if they’re spelt the same way. A bit keen if you ask me.
For anyone concerned, they don’t *think* they’re related.
Farmer Corey got the water works out early, as he discussed his late grandfather who loved two things more than anything. His wife and his farm.
In classic reality TV editing, it was obvious who he was going to pick, with Jadee, Hunter, Chelsea, Rosie and Keeley staying another day.
If you missed Farmer Thomas’s dates, you didn’t miss much drama — just a sweet farmer getting flustered by talking to beautiful women.
Farmer Thomas sent three ladies home, opting to get to know Claire, Clarette, Ellen, Nathania and Rachael a little better.
He looks to have a preference for names, with Claire and Clarette seemingly being his top picks.
Episode two saw Tom and Jarrad make some tough decisions, sending three women home.
We have found my fav lady in Chloe — an extroverted, funny bartender from Queensland — who went on a date with Jarrad.
Tom and Jarrad’s dates were nothing to write home about, so let’s just get to the good stuff.
Jarrad saved Ashlee, Brianna (the maybe cousin), Chloe, Lucy and Maneesha and Tom is bringing home Eliza, Bridget, Emma, Emmie-Rose (huge shock to me) and Georgie.
The farmers then had to make a second, bigger decision. Which of their lovely ladies will come back to the barn for a 24-hour snogging opportunity? I mean date.
Farmer Thomas chose Claire, Corey chose Keeley (the one who made him cry), Tom chose Eliza and Jarrad chose cool bartender Chloe.
The early farm visits were a big bundle of quite lovely — we learnt more about the boys’ farms and about the women.
I know what you really care about is who snogged. Corey and Keeley had a cheeky kiss in a barn, Thomas and Claire played tonsil tennis and Tom and Eliza had a pash.
But what about Jarrad and Chloe, I hear you scream. Don’t worry, she got sung to by Jarrad, so just as steamy.
After getting to know the farmers a bit better, I don’t have many complaints and I fear I went too hard on Jarrad and from what I can tell, I think him and Chloe are my front-runners.
