With the ever-increasing presence of solar farms and wind farms within our districts, it cannot be understated the increased risk and complexity of fires they present.
For local CFA brigades, however, there is no recognition by CFA nor government of this increased risk or burden on local CFA volunteers, nor is there any requisite addition to life-saving equipment provided to local brigades that may alleviate some of this increased risk.
The twist in the tale is that these renewables facilities pay next to no fire services levy either due to government exemptions!
