Mitchell Shire Council has launched a youth room for young people aged between 12 and 18, which will be open on Tuesdays from 3.30pm to 5pm during school terms.
The council says the youth room will offer a fitness program, hang out area, snacks, music to listen to, board games to play and creative art supplies to make use of.
The new room will replace Broadford Youth Room’s Tuesday sessions.
The change means that within Mitchell Shire, there are now youth room activities in Broadford on Mondays, Seymour on Tuesdays and Wallan on Wednesday and Thursdays.
The Seymour Youth Room is in the front room of the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre at Chittick Park, in Pollard St.
Youth rooms are run by Mitchell Youth Services and everything is provided free, including the snacks.

The teen gym program is run by a qualified fitness instructor and is structured for teens aged 13 to 15 years to support healthy growth and development.
The 90-minute sessions are conducted in the gym and supervised by a gym instructor on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4pm to 5.30pm and costs just $7.20 per session. Bookings are not required.
