Jenny Manley is orchestrating a family reunion on Sunday, March 9, inviting close and distant relatives to weave together their shared family tapestry in Merrigum.
She's seeking descendants of the Robinson, Manley, Adams, Abrahamson and Gorman families to join this gathering at the Merrigum Mechanics Institute.
In her letter to the editor last month, Ms Manley said the aforementioned families were new settlers in the Merrigum area.
They were all connected through family, marriage and their faith in the Merrigum Methodist Church.
She said she believed the families were “prominent in building the Merrigum community” as farmers, orchardists, storekeepers and assisted in building the Merrigum Methodist Church.
The family reunion will showcase a treasure trove of memories: memorabilia, photographs, well-loved books and stories, and the Adams family bible.
“We are descendants and have wonderful stories to tell,” she said.
