The Boomers’ co-captain has recovered from ankle surgery and will don the purple and gold in Thursday's opening round clash against the Sydney Uni Flames.
Garrick, a two-time WNBL winner, will suit up for her sixth season with the Boomers.
Speaking to Melbourne Boomers media, the talented guard said she was excited to play this week after spending the past few months with the rehab group.
“The ankle is feeling pretty good. There’s been a few little hiccups here and there throughout the recovery, but it’s all part of the process — I’m excited to get back to full form,” Garrick said.
“Playing in round one has always been the aim, and given the nature and timeframe of the surgery, I’ll be looking to hit my peak as the season progresses.
“That’s the plan I’ve worked on with the coaches and medical staff.”
Garrick — along with the rest of the WNBL contingent — is based in a hub in Queensland, where all eight teams will play matches in Cairns, Mackay and Townsville.
The 3x3 gold medal winner said this season shaped up to be one to remember.
“I’m excited for many reasons on a personal note. It’s a new season for me with this new ankle,” Garrick said.
“It’s something that I’ve been managing for the past three years which has been impacting my ability and performance, so I’m really excited to be pain-free soon.
“On a broader scope, I’m just excited that we’ve got a season going ahead.”
● And in other exciting news, all 60 games of the WNBL season will be broadcast live this season.
Fans can watch Garrick and fellow Shepparton export Shelby Britten on the ABC, Foxtel and Kayo.
Britten, who is preparing for her maiden campaign with Bendigo Spirit, said it was a win for hoops fans to have all WNBL games broadcast.
“It's so exciting for women's sport in general, having all games broadcast,” Britten said.
“Back in Victoria, I look at the kids who are doing it so tough not being able to play any sport, especially the kids that love playing basketball and now girls are able to watch their idols play every single game, so I think it's just so exciting for women's sport and the WNBL.
“It's a huge opportunity to really be able to broadcast the talent we have in this league.”
● Garrick will hit the court on Thursday at 6 pm, while Britten and Bendigo jump on the floor following that match.
Both games will be broadcast live on Kayo.
