Mr Wilde has performed with some of the biggest names, including Tom Jones and Elvis Costello.
The show will be full of Australian “boomer” classics from bands the music group has been a part of.
“A little bit of Skyhooks, Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons, Mondo Rock and Ol’ 55, all of them will be instantly recognisable, and it’s good time rock and roll,” Mr Wilde said.
“Every time that we take the stage, we take no prisoners, we consider it very important that each gig should be as if it was your last,“ he said.
After 50 years of performing and despite COVID-19 getting in the way, Mr Wilde is excited to continue his “addiction” of live performance in Shepparton.
“To find myself in front of an audience is just a trigger for excitement, entertainment and energy ... I have no reason to believe that I’ll be doing anything else up until the day I die.”
Mr Wilde started playing his signature instrument — the saxophone — when he was 10 and his doctor said it would help treat his bronchitis.
He has made a career out of it, even playing it when he contracted COVID-19.
“It just sort of exercises your lungs. I had the virus, about three or four weeks ago, and every day while I was isolating, I played saxophone, just to keep my lungs in shape,“ he said.
He has had a “long” relationship with his “old friend” the saxophone — finding it offers “great therapy both metaphysical and otherwise”.
Mr Wilde said the afternoon would be a “great reconnection” to live performance rock and roll.
“Having been deprived of many of them for the last couple of years, there’s a great enthusiasm from all of the audiences to whom we’ve been playing recently,” he said.
The show is on at the Eastbank Centre, 70 Welsford St, Shepparton. Tickets for the show are $26.50 for non-members, $21.50 for Riverlinks members and $21.50 each for groups (6+).
