It’s the last weekend before the new school term kicks off and if community members are keen for one last hurrah, look no further. Read on and find out where the fun in Greater Shepparton this weekend will be and finish the school holidays with a bang!
FRIDAY
Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content
A two-night in-house concert is coming to Corowa RSL Club this Friday and Saturday night. Australian music powerhouses Eskimo Joe and Daryl Braithwaite will headline on separate nights. All headline and supporting acts are ready to rock Corowa in an effort to raise funds for the Uniting Our Communities flood relief appeal. Doors open at 7pm.
Four days of Sunflower Festival fun is on at Numurkah’s Eden Farm across a massive two weekends. There’ll be plenty of animals, food vans and, of course, sunflowers, that will brighten any individual’s day. Due to the hot weather, Saturday will open at 6am, not 9am, and close at 2.30pm.
Cost: Free entry to the Sunflower Festival. Farm tour costs include $15 for adults, children five years and under are free.
Location: Eden Farm, 1205 Walshs Bridge Rd, Numurkah
Initial Stages presents: Xanadu JR
For one day and one day only, the crew at Initial Stages are performing cult-classic Xanadu JR at Riverlinks WestSide, Mooroopna. With only a week to block, choreograph and rehearse the show, it would be rude not to go and support the local youth. Tickets for the 2pm and 7.30pm show are available on the Riverlinks WestSide website: bit.ly/XanaduJR
Cost: $25
Location: Riverlinks WestSide, Mooroopna
SUNDAY
Mindful hike
Start the day right with an adult-focused outdoor session thanks to Start Outdoors and Paulette Simpson. The Australian Botanic Gardens in Kialla will host a guided hike and meditation at 8am for all community members to enjoy a serene, peaceful morning among nature.
