Giant garage sale
Hosted by Soroptimist International of Shepparton, this one is a bargain hunter's dream. The giant garage sale promises something for everyone at the former Oke’s Toy Warehouse at 1 Lorraine St, Shepparton. All proceeds will go to local charities.
On Friday, September 9, the sale will run from 9am to 3.30pm and on Saturday, September 10, 8.30am to 2.30pm. It will continue next week from Thursday, September 15.

Tabilk-Tabilk Community Festival
Tahbilk Estate is holding its first family-friendly festival, Tabilk-Tabilk Community Festival, to celebrate the environment and Taungurung people.
The day promises music, food, wine and activities for the whole family, with local musicians kicking off the day and free wetland boat cruises. The free event will run from 10am to 4pm Tahbilk Winery and Vineyard, Tahbilk Estate, 254 O'Neils Rd, Tabilk.
Sunday
Shepparton swap meeting
This Sunday, September 11 at the Shepparton Showgrounds will be a swap meeting. There’ll be over 600 sites showcasing historical cars, motorcycle parts and collectables. The show will open to the public at 7.30am and run until 3pm.
Entry is $5, children under 14 have free entry. Gates open for stall holders at 6.30am. This is a no-alcohol event, no camping, and no dogs allowed. Lunch and refreshments are available.
Shepparton and Amateur Radio Club swap meet
The Shepparton and District Amateur Radio Club is having its annual Hamfest (swap meet), which promises plenty of bargains and collections, good company and good food. The event will commence at 10am at St Augustine’s Hall, 95 Orr St.

Joe Matera in conversation
You and your friends are invited to hear Australian guitarist, rock journalist and author Joe Matera talk about his life in the music world since leaving Kyabram in 2000.
His first book, Backstage Pass: The Grit & the Glamour, was published this year. The free session will be held at Kyabram Library located at 19 Lake Rd, Kyabram on Wednesday, September 28 at 7pm. Bookings are preferred, contact the library at 03 5481 2400.
Back in Time Wedding Dress Exhibition
Presented by Merrigum Historical Society, the exhibition will be showcasing a wide range of wedding dresses dating back to the 19th century. The exhibition will be held at Merrigum Museum (111-113 Waverley Ave, Merrigum) from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, September 10 and Saturday, October 8. Appointments available between these dates.

Round-robin tennis tournament
Shepparton and District Tennis Association invites everyone for round-robin tennis on Saturdays. Players to sign up by 1.15pm for three sets of tennis at $2 per week.

Goulburn Valley Pipes and Drums members desperately need experienced pipers and drummers to join the band. Members would also welcome people wishing to learn to play the bagpipes or side, tenor or bass drum.

Over 60s Friendship Group (Shepparton and surroundings areas)
A friendly social group that meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Casablanca Restaurant, 125 High St, Shepparton, for dinner at 6pm and to work out the coming months’ outings.
Singles, singles and friend/s and couples from Shepparton and the surrounding area are welcome. There is no committee, fees or obligation to attend outings. Ideas on venues, outings, places of interest to explore and fun activities are welcome.
