Illuminate
The festival will feature mesmerising light installations to illuminate your evening, at Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton. There will be a glowing line-up of music performances, an immersive laser light and sound show covering the lakeside pathways and projecting off the Shepparton Art Museum.
Catch the lights from 6pm to 9.30pm, but if you can’t make it, the show will be repeated on Saturday from 5pm to 10pm.
Friendship Cafe
The Friendship Cafe is teaming up with WorkSafe to teach multicultural and culturally and linguistically diverse Shepparton residents about their rights on the job and how to keep themselves safe while at work.
This session will be held at WorkSafe Shepparton’s office (Level 1, Suite 3/1-11 High St, Shepparton) from 10am to 11am.
Saturday
Beneath the Wisteria
Those who gather Beneath the Wisteria on Saturday about 11am will hear from Sam Birrell, National Party candidate for the seat of Nicholls at the forthcoming Federal Election.
The group meets beneath a wisteria in Shepparton’s Chinese Gardens, which are part of Monash Park, immediately behind the Senior Citizens’ Hall in Welsford St.
Charcoal drawing and culture
RiverConnect and Kaiela Arts present a charcoal drawing workshop with the theme of plant life.
Learn how to source and prepare natural materials to use in your art, and practice your skills in charcoal drawing.
This free workshop includes a tour of Kaiela Gallery, and a talk about traditional Yorta Yorta art practices.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 26 at Kaiela Arts, 530 Wyndham St, Shepparton from 10am to noon.
Sunday
Pop-up multicultural craft activity
Refugee and migrant women can build connections at a craft session where culturally and linguistically diverse women work together to complete a craft project that doesn't require previous skills or fluency in English.
The event is run by SisterWorks, a non-profit social enterprise that provides refugee and migrant women with opportunities to build their confidence, independence and skills to improve their economic outlook.
This free event will be held at Victoria Park Lake, John Pick Playground, from 2pm to 4pm.
Riverlinks presents Shepparton Brass and Wind at Toolamba
Shepparton Brass and Wind is coming to Toolamba as part of the In Your Town series, delivering entertainment beyond Shepparton’s main performing arts centres and directly into local halls and smaller communities.
The group will be performing from 2.30pm to 4.15pm at Toolamba Hall for a gold coin donation as entry.
Shepparton Brass and Wind has up to 30 members aged from 10 to 70, and performs regularly in the community at a variety of festivals and events.
Salsa in the Park
Get moving on Sunday with beginner salsa lesson for all ages. Participants will learn the basic rhythm, timing and action of salsa dancing.
Participants then learn some basic salsa steps and partnering and put together a short routine; you’ll be truly dancing salsa by the end of the session.
The free lessons will be held at Victoria Park Lake Northern Foreshore, Wyndham St, Shepparton, from 4pm to 5pm.

Over-60s Friendship Group
A friendly social group meets every second Tuesday of each month at 6pm at Casablanca Restaurant, 125 High St, Shepparton, for a meal and to discuss the coming months’ itinerary for day and evening outings. Lodge Eshcol

Craft Exhibition
The Eastern Goulburn Valley CWA of Victoria is holding a creative arts exhibition on Friday, March 25, from 2.30pm to 5pm, and on Saturday, March 26, from 10am to 4pm, at the Shepparton East Football clubrooms, Central Park Reserve, Central Ave, Shepparton East.
