The annual ALM Liquor Awards awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of independent liquor retailers and their teams.
Up against 720 other stores in Victoria and southern NSW, Waldron’s bottle shop was awarded Best IGA Liquor Store and Overall Best Independent Bottle Shop. Bottle shop manager Dean Charles was also awarded Manager of the Year.
It’s the second time the store has been recognised at the awards following success in 2019.
Waldron’s Store Manager Craig Waldron told The Free Press that the team was “ecstatic” to be acknowledged once again.
“It’s a massive achievement and we were up against some great competition,” he said.
“These awards reflect our hard work and the consistent high standard we strive to achieve in our store,” he said.
“The guys in the bottle shop go above and beyond, following compliance, creating promotions and looking after their customers. It’s a testament to their great work.”
Mr Waldron believes the Corowa store also impressed judges with their close ties to the local community.
“We are all about supporting not only our local wineries and breweries but also local sporting clubs, charities and community groups,” he said.
“We also couldn't have done it without the support of our valued customers, dedicated staff members, the team at ALM and all our supplier partners.”
For 17 years, Waldron’s Fresh on the River has been a vibrant part of the local community.
Located on the corner of Riesling and River Street the store has undergone many major transformations over the years, offering locals an exciting shopping experience.
The ever-popular Waldron’s Fresh Café is also expanding with construction currently underway.
