The club’s members said Ms Noy, who is about two months into her role, is already dedicated to the welfare of local students and is particularly passionate about the revival of homework clubs, which ceased operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Smith Family is an Australian children’s charity that supports 600 students from eight schools in the Shepparton area through scholarships.
Shepparton Day VIEW Club sponsors four of these students.
Speaking passionately about her vision, Ms Noy highlighted the significance of homework clubs based in local primary schools.
These clubs, led by volunteers, played a crucial role in supporting students’ educational journeys before their activities were interrupted by the pandemic.
Now, under Ms Noy’s stewardship, the focus is on bringing these educational initiatives back to life.
Additional programs being driven forward include the Student to Student Learning initiative and the iTrack program.
The latter offers one-to-one personal contact to students in Years 9 to 11 through a professional mentor.
This personal touch, Ms Noy believes, can profoundly influence the educational outcomes for these young learners, especially those who might be at a disadvantage.
As Ms Noy sets the wheels in motion for these projects, Shepparton Day VIEW Club members reaffirmed their unwavering support for her and the Smith Family’s initiatives.
The Shepparton Day VIEW Club meets at the Peppermill Hotel, on the Goulburn Valley Hwy, on the first Wednesday of each month.
It is always welcoming new people who share members’ commitment to supporting education and women’s issues in the Shepparton community.
