Community Sport Minister Ros Spence launched the Get Active Victoria mobile app on Wednesday, June 22 and said she was hopeful it would help people start moving their bodies.
“This app will encourage Victorians of all ages and fitness levels to get active with a range of workouts to get moving every day,” she said.
The ‘Get Active’ app challenges Victorians to accomplish at least 30 minutes of physical activity, and the online version as of now has more than 85,000 people taking part in activities spanning from family fitness videos to strength and endurance guidance.
“We know the benefits of regular exercise are far-reaching, regardless of your goals the app makes fitness available to everyone,” Ms Spence said.
The app allows for a variety of guided workouts suited to people with a range of athletic backgrounds, from beginners through to advanced. it has been created with feedback from experienced physiotherapists, yoga instructors and personal trainers, with full intent to ensure level-based workouts.
Users of the app can set clear goals, record their activity, receive support from an online team, and discover different locations to be active outside.
Reminders, an activity timer and a calendar to schedule workouts combine to make the app experience faster and more efficient for users.
The web-based edition of the app had been introduced in 2020, as well as the substantial evidence supplied through the Get Active Victoria app, which endorsed activity for individuals of all ages and athletic ability.
The new app is available through both Apple and Android stores, it is easy to install and free to use. Register with Get Active Victoria or log in to your account once it’s downloaded and you’re ready to go.
