I am sure all our visitors will have good memories of their visit.
The annual Christmas dinner will be held on Saturday, December 14th, beginning at 6.30 pm.
Cost is $25.00 and we need the support of all members and friends.
Please ring Maureen on 0419 385 502 or Lee on 0419 557 229 to confirm your booking.
The Christmas hamper books have been given out to all members and we hope you can sell your book and perhaps even ask for another book as they are very easy to sell and we have at least four hampers to be won.
Please return all money and tickets to Lee Chant and it is not too late to add some items to the hampers.
Please see what you have lurking in the pantry that may not be of any use to you but would fill out the hamper.
On Sunday we had a very enjoyable trip to Mulwala RSL for the day out.
This is our last trip for this year and we will resume the trips again in early February.
At the conclusion of the trip home presentations were made to Betty Thomson, Meryl Mawson and Tina and Mick Ryan in appreciation for their help and support during the year.
I have left the pennant results till last as they don’t make good reading.
We were soundly beaten by Hill Top but certainly not disgraced.
We only managed a draw and lost by 12 shots.
New skipper Glen Denham drew with Ken Parks. Glen had Wayne Shepherd, Clive Baxter and Rob Carver in his rink and they were always in the lead after the fifth end but were caught on the line by their opposition.
This was a make shift rink as Gary Mott, the usual skipper, became indisposed on Friday night and was unable to play.
Well done to all in this rink.
David Pettifer was unlucky to lose his game with Ray Flett.
At the conclusion of end 23 Merrigum led by one shot and were matching every effort of their opponents but lost four shots on end 24 to lose their momentum and thus lose the game.
They probably deserved to win but lost by 2 shots.
In the final two games Joe Chant played Andy Willaton and Rob Dennis played Paul Kerrins and they lost by 7 and 9 shots respectively.
Both of these teams lacked consistency and Hill Top deserved to have comfortable wins.
We are doing green renovations in early December and will have to play away on two occasions.
I know this is unfortunate but if we do not act ASAP then we won’t have a green after the long break to play on and we hope you will all understand the reasons behind the renovations.
