Works are now mostly complete along Drummond Rd for the new drainage system, with works now approaching the intersection of Drummond Rd and New Dookie Rd.
The northbound lane on Drummond Rd will remain closed to traffic until works are completed at the intersection.
The works will involve construction of pits and pipes within the traffic island and the left-hand turn lane into Drummond Rd from New Dookie Rd.
Traffic management will be in place during these works, starting on Monday, January 13 for a period of about five days, weather permitting.
During this period, further traffic changes will be in place, including
Semi-trailers and B-double articulated vehicles travelling west on New Dookie Rd will not be able to turn left into Drummond Rd.
Semi-trailers and B-double articulated vehicles travelling east on new Dookie Rd will be able to turn right into Drummond Rd under traffic management.
It is recommended that semi-trailers and B-double articulated vehicles wanting to access Drummond Rd consider entering New Dookie Rd via Wheeler St, so they are travelling east and able to turn right into Drummond Rd from New Dookie Rd.
Light trucks and cars travelling in either direction on New Dookie Rd will be able to enter New Dookie Rd.
Once these works are complete at the intersection, works will progress into the southern road reserve on New Dookie Rd.
These works will be completed under traffic management, including traffic controllers as required, with delays to be expected.
Access to businesses near the works will be maintained throughout the construction period, with works taking place between 7am and 8pm Monday to Friday.
These works are scheduled to be completed by the end of January, weather permitting.
