Uncertainty surrounds the future of the Tristar medical clinic in Kialla after the group entered voluntary administration.

The group, which is based in Mildura, has 29 clinics in regional, rural and under-serviced regions across Victoria, NSW, South Australia, Queensland, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.
One of the largest privately owned health service providers in Australia, it has operated on a philosophy of predominantly 100 per cent bulk billing for its patients.
Tristar went into voluntary administration on May 24 with administrator McGrathNicol saying the group would continue operating while options for a sale and/or recapitalisation were explored.
In a statement, McGrathNicol restructuring partner Matthew Caddy said there had been a “pleasing level of initial interest” from parties considering purchasing or investing in the group.

Tristar has a clinic in Kialla but when its telephone number was called by the News, a receptionist in Dandenong answered and said the Kialla clinic had been closed since December.
A sign on the Kialla clinic door says the clinic is closed “temporarily” and is offering only telehealth consultations.
The News has made inquiries about the future of the Kialla clinic, but is yet to receive clarification.
The first meetings of creditors are scheduled for Friday, June 3.
