Three year 11 students at Sacred Heart College, Steph Munro, Ethan Lay and Harry Nagle have said goodbye to their luscious locks for two great causes.

In 2022 Steph will become the SRC President while Ethan and Harry will both be a part of the senior leadership group, so to get the ball rolling in terms of fundraising and to assist causes close to their hearts, the trio decided to raise money and awareness while they had their heads shaved in front of peers.
“We shaved our heads to raise money for two important causes close to our hearts. I would like to help those living with cancer while also raising awareness for mental health,” Steph said.
“People living with cancer are courageous every day and looking after one’s mental health is very important especially during these crazy times. Lockdowns and restrictions have had serious effects on mental health, from business owners to students and communities, we are all struggling.
“I am donating all of my long, dark brown hair to Hair With Heart to make a wig for someone in need who has lost their hair. The two boys also shaved their heads for this cause.
“We would like to give 50% of the funds raised to the Albury Wodonga Cancer Foundation to help local people and 50% to the Black Dog Institute,” Ethan added.
“This is the first time any of us have been involved in something like this, but we just wanted to help raise money and raise awareness as we felt a connection to both the causes,” Harry concluded.
Thank you also went out to Principal Lew Nagle and teachers Colleen and Sandie who assisted with the shave and to Cam and other staff who assisted along the way.
