On Tuesday, March 11, the Shepparton and Seymour lines will be running to an extreme heat timetable.
Due to the forecast high temperatures expected today, speed restrictions will be in place, and may extend to other V/Line train lines if temperatures exceed 36°C.
V/Line says extreme heat speed restrictions come into effect to help reduce the likelihood of train and track faults, while also keeping passengers safe.
Journey times will be extended as trains travel at a reduced speed.
Passengers should allow for extra travel time for any delays, and should check to see if their service will be delayed before travelling.
A copy of the extreme heat timetable can be downloaded from the V/Line website or passengers can ask for a copy from their nearest staffed station.
Passengers are advised to make use of drinking water on board and are encouraged to travel with bottled water and wear cool clothing.
