Tractors pull in big crowd

Held across the two tracks were seven different classes of racing.

Finley Community Tractor Pull Committee member Brendan Cornfoot said he was pleased with the event overall.

“It was a really good event which saw a big crowd. I think there were between 1200 and 1500 people there on the night.

“The two tracks used were in really good nick, and all our volunteers were absolutely fantastic.”

Crowds enjoyed competitions in the super mini, open mini, outlaw mini, limited modified, open modified, 2WD trucks and pro-stock categories.

In the super mini class, Flamin’ Furious took the win, second place went to Rockabilly and third to The Gambler.

In the open mini class, Infected took the win.

The outlaw mini class saw Blown Income II get the win, followed by Tommy’s Toy and Hectic was third.

The limited modified class was taken out by Shellberite, with Soul Survivor second and Hellrazor third.

Riverina Screamer was the winner of the open modified class.

First in the the 2WD class was Sudden Impact, with Spot On second.

In pro-stock, first was taken out by Wolverine Deere II and second was Wicked Whitetail.

Wicked Whitetail has just qualified for the the Pullers Championship, an international event held in Nashville, Illinois, where they will compete against some of the best pulling vehicles in the world.

“We really want to thank our sponsors for their support for the committee and the event, without their help the event couldn’t be what it is,” Mr Cornfoot said.

“As a committee we are most definitely looking forward to next year’s event.”
