An invitation is extended to all golfers to take part in the two-person ambrose event for men and ladies.
Arrive at 10am for 10.30am start. The cost is $20 per player.
Finley Lions Club has come to the fore this year and will be providing a $5 barbecue lunch, with all proceeds going to the day’s fundraising for research into breast cancer.
The day is once again proudly sponsored by Finley Bakery and Patisserie and Joanne, as well as many other personal and business sponsorships.
There are the usual categories of Best Dressed in Pink, decorated cart and novelty events on offer.
Last year’s best dressed winner Kim McCaw is out to defend her title, as are Trish Jackson and Helen McRae who took out best decorated golf cart last year with ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’.
Entries close Monday, August 15, to enter email finleygolf@bigpond.com or phone Sharon Pyle on 0418 882 275.
However, if anyone should find themselves available to play at the last minute, Captain Sharon certainly won’t knock them back!
Joanne is proud to advise that this is the 16th year the event has been held in honour of her mother, Marg Honeychurch, who was affected by breast cancer.
So let’s all work together to help find a cure.

Winner of last week’s trailer load was Jenny Douglas. Well done, Jen.
The Lions Club supports so many community causes and welcomes the continuing support of all fundraisers.

St Mary’s Catholic Church and Parish Hall were full of activity last Sunday with 17 young students receiving confirmation, followed by a celebration.
Bishop Mark Edwards travelled from Wagga on Saturday to administer the sacrament in Tocumwal on Saturday evening, and then Finley on Sunday morning.
St Mary’s was packed with family and members of the parish to witness this very special occasion in the students’ lives.
St Joseph’s School principal Veronica Braybon thanked the parish Priest, Fr Paul, and Bishop Mark, together with sponsors and parents of the candidates, as well as the teachers involved in preparing for the event.
A special cake was made and decorated to celebrate the occasion by Katrina Monteath, whose nephew Joshua was one of the candidates.
This was a huge effort on Katrina’s part as she was on the verge of welcoming a new baby into the world.
